Literacy is the ability to read and write, understanding of something. With the help of jolly phonics, I help children learn how to read at an early age using the blending of sounds.

I often combine teaching letter names and letter sounds, accompanying it with songs and rhymes. This technique helps children remember quickly because they associate each letter sound to a rhyme. This aspect is what children look forward to because learning is always fun.

When it comes to Numeracy, it is the ability to understand numbers and perform arithmetic skills. My pupils are taught simple addition, number names with the spelling of numbers, counting, subtraction of number, multiplication, and concept of time.

To help my pupils understand numeracy better, I deploy the use of objects around them, using quick and easy strategies to help children understand.

Most times, I start by counting using objects, number song, play math games, or flashcards.

These approaches have been tested and yielded positive outcome and at an early age, my pupils grow a love for numbers. With this, children love and look forward to more of my lessons.

I usually apply the play-way method and sometimes vary my methodologies depending on the need of the child I will be teaching.

Assessment is an integral part of learning which is mostly done on a weekly basis. This is to help my wards keep up with what was taught in the previous lesson.
