French Language

More than 10 years experience

I am a seasoned French Language Teacher with at least 35 years teaching experience and recently retired from the Ministry of Defence as a Director of Education.

I am qualified to teach French at all levels of Education ranging from Primary through Secondary to Tertiary Level. I have a B. A. Ed French from the University of Ife (1982), an M.A. French from the University of Jos (1986) and a Diplome du Traducteur Commercial from Alliance Francaise de Paris (1994).

While in service I taught French at both the JSS and SSS levels preparing the students for the NECO BECE, SSCE and the WASSCE. I was the Coordinator of Basic French for the Army Personnel of 81 Division Lagos. I have also taught French in the Lagos State University as a part-time lecturer. I teach functional French to those who desire a working knowledge of French.

I use diverse methods to bring my learners to the point where they can communicate with a native speaker of the language, notably:

9. Field trips

My products speak for me because I am dedicated to teaching the subject I love so much. The first WASC candidates I presented in 1985 in Command Secondary School Jos all Scored A3 (4 of them). One of them is Dr. Osare Ogbebo, currently a French Lecturer in the University of Benin. Some others that I taught in Command Day Secondary School Ojo , Lagos Including My daughter, Nnenna Ekobay, studied French at First degree and Masters Levels.

I expect my student to bring along to class his/her laptop loaded with data and exercise books. he/she will also pay for the text book and CDs/DVDs that would be required for the language acquisition. I am an amiable and agreeable personality. My sobriquet in secondary school was 'Madame le professeur. Call me that!
