My name is Nwokike Winifred. I have seven years teaching experience in teaching early years learners. I love teaching Literacy in Nursery classes to help them have a strong foundation in reading and spelling by mastering their letter sounds, blending of consonants and vowels to build pink, blue, green level words and mastering their digraph and phonographs with the aid of audio-visual, flashcards, charts, songs, demonstration, games to make learning fun. Learners in Nursery 2 are also exposed to sentence formation and parts of speech like nouns, verbs ,adjective with the aids of Montessori materials like noun box 1 and 2,verb box 1.
Numeracy; Early years learners are exposed to the concept of numbers by teaching them to count, identify and write numbers through the use of counters,beads,games,sand paper numerals and abacus. Numbers are related to the objects around them.Learners in Nursery 2 are taught the concept of simple addition,subtraction, division and multiplication through the use of Montessori materials like the short bead stair,golden beads,counters and numbers. At the end of the session ,learners in Nursery 2 should be able to count and write numbers 1 to 500 and solve simple addition, subtraction problems independently.
