I make Verbal Reasoning easy and interesting to my students. Verbal Reasoning is the easiest section in common entrance examination. My first approach when teaching Verbal Reasoning is to make sure students understand how to arrange a letter of a word to get a meaningful word. For five years now, all the children I have prepared for common entrance examination have an excellent score in Verbal Reasoning.
I make used of active learning and class activities method. Firstly, I selected three to five years common entrance past questions.
Secondly, I explained all the past questions one per day with my students in other for them to get the pattern of the questions.
Thirdly, I give my students I complete Verbal Reasoning past questions to answer, i observed that majority of my students got above 30 out of 50 questions at the first attempt. After correction and more explanation, their scores improved, they got 40 above out of 50 questions, and before the seventh attempt, none of the children will had less then 45 out of 50 questions. This method have been working for all the children I have prepared for common entrance examination, which make it possible for the children to be admitted in the following schools such as Nigerian Turkish, America International School, Lekki British International School, Corona Secondary School, Loyola Jesuit, Saint Louis, Saint Thomas, Grange School, Federal Government Colleges etc with scholarships.
