For quantitative reasoning to be easy and interesting, children need the knowledge of basic mathematics. Children preparing for common entrance examination have to learn quantitative reasoning along with mathematics.
In 2014, i was hired to prepare Farida Suleiman for common entrance examination. I discovered that her mathematics was very terrible. Firstly, I started with basic mathematics on how to add, subtract, multiple and divide integers, decimal numbers and fraction, then I taught her how to solve simple linear equation and quantitative reasoning. I less than three months, she was able to solve complex quantitative questions as a result of solid knowledge of mathematics.
I used active learning, class activities and assignment methods. With those methods, she got a high score in her examination.
