Business Study is a subject or course or area of study that teaches the principles of business, management, and entrepreneurship.

Virtually, all students will encounter the world of business, whether they work in urban or rural areas. They must be prepared to engage in business activity with confidence and competence. Young people need to understand how business functions, the role it plays in our society, the opportunities it generates, the skills it requires, and the impact it can have on their own lives and on society, today and in the future.

Business study will build a strong foundation for those who wish to move on to further study and training in specialized areas such as management, international business, marketing, accounting, information and communication technology, or entrepreneurship. Engaging in the world of business involves studying individuals, communities, and organizations, assessing their needs and problems, and generating solutions.

Business study is an essential subject that every student should undertake, atleast, in junior secondary level. I used interactive and discussion methods to teach the subject which are considered to be the best suitable approaches for the subject. I have recorded lots of success in the subject and most of the students I coach on business study passed their examinations with good grades. I have received gifts, commendation and recommendation from parents as a result of excellent performances of their children on business study examinations. I have five years experience in tutoring/teaching business studies

Having been in British and American systems of education and taught students/pupils using their curriculums, I found out that in primary/elementary school stage, the level of learning using British curriculum is substantially higher. However, it seems to me that the American curriculum picks up.
