Government can be said to be the regulation, restraint, supervision, or control which is exercised upon the individual members of an organized jural society by those invested with the supreme political authority, for the good and welfare of the body politic; or the act of exercising supreme political power or control.

In other words, government can be defined as a group of people that governs a community or unit. It sets and administers public policy and exercises executive, political and sovereign power through customs, institutions, and laws within a state. A government can be classified into many types--democracy, republic, monarchy, aristocracy, and dictatorship are just a few.

It is important for every individuals to be tutored about government, not only for examination purpose but also for understanding of individual rights, understanding of government and its policies that regulates the activities in the nation.

I'm a government teacher who conduct private lessons for secondary school students and students of Federal College of Education, Kano. Having been in British and American systems of education and taught students/pupils using their curriculums, I found out that in primary/elementary school stage, the level of learning using British curriculum is substantially higher. However, it seems to me that the American curriculum picks up.
