Pictures Reading

Children in their early years learn fast and with ease when they are visually engaged and stimulated. Picture reading is an important tool in achieving this. Furthermore, picture reading gives children the opportunity to experience a rich language development by linking pictures to words, textures and sounds.

From my experience of working with pre verbal children, a good way of developing their vocabulary is by participating in picture reading with them. This activity also offers the advantage of building up their confidence and teaching them listening skills.

I use a fun and playful approach to get the child engaged in this activity because research has shown that children learn best through play.

I have had experience teaching both the Nigerian and British EYFS curriculum. The EYFS has 7 learning areas: numeracy, literacy, communication and language, expressive arts and design, physical development, knowledge and understanding of the world; and personal, social and emotional development.

When you book lessons, Tobi will usually travel anywhere at most 5km (~ 30mins drive ) from FCT to deliver lessons.
