Spelling is important because good spelling facilitates communication and aids reading. Being a confident speller leads to confidence in all aspects of literacy. Spelling, reading, writing and comprehension are all closely linked.

My method of teaching spelling is by first breaking every word into parts based on the syllables present in the word. I get my students to pronounce each word slowly and spell it the way they think it should be spelt then I guide them through spelling it right if need be.

I believe the Nigerian curriculum operates the same way as the British curriculum and that is what is used in schools for the most part. Having taught in a school before, I am familiar with this curriculum and I believe that understanding how much a child knows is the best way to start.

When you book lessons, Titi will usually travel anywhere at most 5km (~ 30mins drive ) from Gbagada to deliver lessons.
