I have been teaching phonics sounds since 2009. I teach my pupils how to sound, blend, and pronounce words correctly using the Jolly Phonics Sounds method. I teach phonics to pupils in Nursery classes who are just learning to read. Also, to those in Nursery and Primary classes who have a reading deficiency which requires intervention.

Understanding of phonics sounds has been very helpful to my pupils. It always helps them to read texts fluently. They excellently read and answer comprehension questions. They pronounce long words with less difficulty. It helps them excel in other subject areas too because they find it easy to read and understand instructions, texts, and notes.

Interpreting stories is also easy for them which helps them to sequence events with ease. Being able to read with Jolly phonics' knowledge also helps my pupils to re-tell stories. I make use of Jolly Phonics materials(texts) for instructions. I use online resources as well which also includes worksheets.

My phonics pupils are super- spellers! Knowledge of phonics encourages them to make impressive spelling attempts.

I was able to help a dyslexic who had difficulty spelling, reading, and comprehending texts overcome this challenge. He spells well now and can read to understand and also answer comprehension questions appropriately. He also writes creatively now too.
