Would teach you how to enter data and view variables. Would teach how to analyse, triangulate, transform, and show graphs, tables and charts of data entered.
I have worked for a data mining and analysis firm before where we worked on data sourced from the field. We extracted data from questionnaires, then entered them on the computer and then ran them. After that we then interpreted the output. I still do data analysis and mining using SPSS.
More of hands-on teaching, with little theoretical statistics. I would expect lots of practice from students. This practice would help them make sure what has been learned sticks. Learning would be bit-by-bit of every single topic to be learned.
