I have successfully worked with many pre-school, nursery school and lower primary school learners teaching these essential basic life skills, Literacy and Numeracy.

My approach to teaching Literacy is to patiently take a child through the elements of Literacy including alphabet and sound awareness, word formation, writing and reading, development into two, three, four, five letter words and so on and recognition of sound patterns and differences. I also work to enhance the child's listening and comprehension skills and promote early vocabulary development, fluency and love of reading.

Numeracy involves a child's ability to not only know numbers but also use them in basic number operations to reason and solve everyday problems like counting, measuring, comparing quantities and using money in shopping. That I make sure to teach.

Parental participation is necessary at this early learning stage so I task parents to use every opportunity to show my learners in settings outside the lesson space letters, numbers and new words they have learned including objects, people, places and animals associated with such words anytime they are spot so they can relate real-life experiences to classroom learning to improve comprehension.

I also look out for symptoms of learning disabilities such as Slow learning, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Attention Deficit or/and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or any of the Autism spectrum disorders and intervene or recommend specialised intervention as the need may be to make sure my learners are at par with their peers on required learning outcomes.

I am patient, creative, engaging and thorough. Dedicated to seeing my learners happy and at the top of their classes, I strive to make learning fun, interesting and inspiring especially for those of tender age.
