The English language is one of the main subjects required to be distinct especially in external examination. Most pupils do not really have difficulty in speaking the language but find it surprisedly difficult to make good grades during examinations.

While teaching this subject, I realized that just like mathematics, it is governed by sets of rules that the pupils must master in order to do well in the subject.

My approach to this is that I take the pupils through each aspect of the subject and help them have in-depth knowledge of them by applying the rule that governs it. I use different test books and give assessments that will keep the pupil challenged through the lesson. For example, most external exams have sets of antonyms and synonyms that the pupils must master to pass that aspect of the examination. It is my duty to get the list of these words and help the child have a mastery of them.
