The IELTS exam is mainly to test the proficiency of intending students in the English language and this is done through the listening, reading, writing, and speaking exams in the General and Academic exams.

A student needs a total of 2 hours 45 minutes for 3 exams except for the speaking exam which is usually on a different day and lasts for 11 -14 minutes.

To get your desired score, all you need is to understand the rules of the exam, practice and be confident because IELTS is not only an exam but a life skill that you will need in your destination country.

In the course of teaching IELTS for more than 2 years now, I have tutored over 15 candidates most of whom are extremely busy yet I have been able to help them get the score of their choice. My most recent client is a couple who have written the exam 4 times between them. What I did was to first find out what they were doing wrong consistently and I focussed on strengthening that area.

I gave them tips and plenty of practice questions which helped to build their confidence to register for the exam again and they made it.


Also last year, I tutored a very busy candidate so our classes were late at night twice a week. I accessed her ability and gave her tips on answering different parts of the exam after which we attempted several questions, we even had a mock IELTS test and she had the score of her choice and I have since received one referral from her which will commence next month.
Due to the pandemic, I had to take some classes online and they were effective as well.

What is so peculiar about me is my classes usually last for a month after which my clients are ready.

Again, I had a client who was bad in English ordinarily and I was able to first work on his foundation to get him to be better in the language before we delved into IELTS proper. This was easy because I am also an adult educator.

Also, I am good with children hence I had tutored several minors and I am able to hold their attention for the duration of our classes.


My style of tutoring is simple, I first have to determine the type of IELTS exam the client is writing i.e. whether it's UKVI, Life skills, general or academic, the proficiency of the client in English language, then I will explain the rules of the exam, the different aspects of the exam and teach the parts of the exam one after the other.

The client can expect to get into the exam mode and setting several times before the exam, which removes every form of anxiety or exam tension during the exam proper.

If the client has IELTS materials that is welcome but I usually provide adequate study materials for our sessions.

Finally, for the best results, I will need the maximum cooperation of the client in carrying out assignments and taking our classes seriously.
