Spellings could be very disturbing to learners especially when the words are quite different from their pronunciations. I help learners understand the tricks behind the words and how to write them. A learner, Kosi in Year 3, had great challenge in spellings - four-lettered words even. When I had four sessions with her, she greatly improved and her parents testified to that effect. So, the methodology behind spellings help learners to have a firm grip of the words in pronunciation as well as in writing.
