Mathematics is a very interesting subject when you have the right teacher. Maths has always been one of my favorite subjects and my best opportunity to get 100%. I've always been one of the best students at maths, being naturally good at it in addition to studying and hard work.

I completed WASSCE with A1 in mathematics and also took the SATS with my highest score being in maths (over 82%) and earning scholarships with my result. It's safe to say Mathematics is my forte. I have taken various mathematics exams such as in JAMB and DIPLOMA entrance exams and aced my maths each time.

I've been called a good mathematics teacher a number of times. I'm told that I explain things well and I consciously put in the effort to do so. I've helped a few students prepare for school maths examinations and in addition to their inputs they've done really well.

My teaching style is usually tailored to each student, catering to their respective strengths. I start with an assessment test and then create goals based on the results. I communicate these goals with my student in order to ensure we achieve them together. I also like to establish rapport with my students, so I am neither perceived as mean nor too friendly. I also want to know what exactly the parent expects of me at the end of the teaching period.

In lessons, I take my time to breakdown the topics and then I give a lot of practice work to the student, both lesson work and homework. I also work with the school work and go through school assignments with the child. I like my students to have a quiet learning environment devoid of distraction with enough writing materials provided such as notebooks, etc. I would also benefit from support from the guardians in ensuring that the child is serious with doing their work and studying even on days when I am not teaching.
