More than 10 years experience

Over the years, I've loved to work with children. I help pupils to learn Nelson or Cursive handwriting. I take time to sit with them teaching them the letter of the alphabet by letter. I teach them the two-letter words, three-letter words and help them to pronounce words using phonic sounds and to read sentences. I help them develop counting skills using various coordinated activities in the class. Read nursery rhymes, phonics, and picture books to enhance their literacy skills.

I make numeracy an engaging experience for my pupils by using worksheets or lined papers, monitoring their pencil grasp, and how they write. I use counting blocks, beams to help them understand simple addition and subtraction. Patience with the slow learners helps them to also understand the lesson content and the result has always been great.

I worked at Lashbol College, Ahmaddiyyah, where British Curriculum is still being used. I'm working currently at Lara Day School, Ikeja, where we are using blended curriculum comprising of both Nigerian and American curricula.
