More than 3 years experience

Teaching can be a wonderfully rewarding experience, but success requires more than just subject area knowledge. Though my path towards education started early on in my secondary school years, my first official teaching experience was not until this NYSC program.

I got to work as a chemistry and mathematics teacher at IGBOBINI COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL at Ondo state, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. My job was to teach them the basics and practical part of chemistry to the ss1 and also prepare the ss3 students for their O' level exams.

My first teaching experience taught me a lot about what it means to be a teacher and a lot about myself, as a future educator. For example, I always knew that coming up with lesson plans was not easy, so I’m glad that I was able to have this experience to prepare me for it in the future.

I also learned that I do not have a good sense of time when I am teaching, so I now know to make sure to make a schedule of what will be done at what time.
