I love chemistry. Teaching chemistry is natural. I teach it with stories, anecdotes, playful calculations and depth in a friendly and passionate style.
Chemistry is why we are alive, move about and communicate From DNA to fiber optics, drugs to fabrics. I sometimes dream of seeing electrons move from hydrogen to chlorine, forming hydrochloric acid in the process. It's just a dream which is also a form of chemical reactions in the brain.
The first thing I tell my students is that we are a bunch of chemicals. Atoms, molecules, and ions linked together in a seemingly complicated yet decipherable manner. Understanding the basis of this linking is what differentiates a chemist from a herbalist. It's about structures and properties. Why do metals conduct electricity and non-metals do not? Why graphites are electrodes and diamonds are not? It's just the structural configuration of ELECTRONS in their shapes.
Electrons are free to move in metals and graphites, not in non-metals and diamonds.
