Basic Mathematics

I have had 2 year experience tutoring elementary and secondary school students in Mathematics as a part time job in the US. I have taught a total of 9 students for an extended period of time; spanning months. I am most experienced with pre-algebra which borrows concepts taught in Basic Mathematics such as ratios, proportions, Order of Operations, Percentages, mixed numbers, Basic geometry and word problems.

For the 7th grade student I taught throughout the 1st Semester of 2017, he was able to raise his grade from a B- to an A and maintain it even after I had to suspend lessons at the end of my stay in the US.

The best and most efficient method I have found with increasing student confidence in approaching math problems is repeated practice. I like to borrow problems from textbooks outside the students class texts to get them as much practice as possible and exposed to as many kinds of problems as possible.

I self-taught myself for the Checkpoint examinations which had a math component to it and was able to pass the exams with top-tier percentile marks. As such, I am able to tutor students in Maths in preparation of this component of their exams.
