Calculus is that branch of mathematics that deals with differentiation and integration. A lot of students, especially the non-science students, do not understand this aspect of mathematics as they wrongly believe it is for special students. If your child has this wrong notion or is not particularly interested in learning it, I can change his or her belief and give him or her the basic and necessary understanding of what calculus entails where he or she is science oriented or not.

As a first class graduate of mathematics myself, I have adequate knowledge of calculus and with my experiences in teaching and tutoring at various levels of learning, I have seen first hand the challenges being faced by students in mathematics, particularly in calculus.

My teaching method is directed at improving the student's interest in calculus, then proceed to above average understanding of both differential and integral calculus. Firstly, I assess the student's ability and then note his or her strengths and weaknesses. Then I work to improve on the weakness while not diminishing the strengths. I give adequate illustrative examples and increase the difficulty gradually to help the student progress at a steady rate. Learning can be fun this way and it creates some enthusiasm in the student.

My relationship with my students is both cordial and professional and this provides an enabling interaction between the student and myself.

I have taught students who have gone on to have a very satisfactory result in their school exams and external exams like the UTME where calculus is an essential component of its mathematics syllabus.
