I am an experienced TOEFL tutor and I teach students to help them improve their score by giving them the necessarily required preparation.

The TOEFL, like other standardized tests, is predictable, since ETS has to test the same concepts in each and every test. This predictability is what makes the test coachable.

My teaching method involves assessing the student's understanding of US English since the TOEFL is a language exam with its providers based in the US. This I do by taking a practice test with the students at the initial stage to have a view of the candidate's strengths and weaknesses. I introduce the candidate to the various sections of the test and give them time proven clues and strategies needed to improve their score in all the sections.

I work on improving the students understanding of the reading, listening and writing sections of the test and how understanding some key relationships among these sections can help ease their preparation. I give details on the different question types for each section and strategies to choose the correct answer and avoid distractors while working at a fast pace to avoid being unable to finish before the allotted time.

I give enough practice to my students by providing enough preparation materials to help them practice more and be confident to take the exam and ace it. The secret codes are what differentiate a middle score student from a high score student.

Since the exam is an Internet-based exam, I encourage students to get familiar with the computer and learn how to type fast as this would be particularly useful in the writing section of the rest.
