Communication is complete when one's thoughts can be effectively transmitted into another person such that both sender and receiver have one mind. In creative writing, we attempt to do that with a pen and paper. This is what I teach my students: let your readers be so engrossed in what you write that they become a part of it, irrespective of whatever subject you write on.
I share easily relatable examples, structured guidelines, constant practice and exposure to rich content and previously written pieces so that my students can learn to own their own content and strongly assert same clearly.
I usually start by assessing how well my students can write about any subject, then having assessed their strengths, I can structure a curriculum to help them overcome their peculiar challenges to help them write better.
