More than 6 years experience

Some students are naturally drawn to biology, while others ask why they should care about it. Based on that, I spend ample time explaining to my students how biological concepts and questions are relevant to our everyday life. And what this does for me is that it deepens their appreciation of science, and makes them relate it more to their daily life.

In addition, I make the study of Biology tangible for my students. The many ways I go about this is to make them:
. Look at slides of various kinds of cells.
. Dissect specimens to study their anatomy.
. Carry out food tests in the laboratory.
. Plant a little garden to learn about plants.

For the benefit of all classes of learners, I incorporate multimedia materials into teaching as well; in addition to textbooks, I try to incorporate videos and other forms of media into my collection of instructional strategies. I'm very proud to mention here that in the just concluded UTME examination, my students, especially Chinedu, scored 70 percent and above.
