Most teenagers of today want to write their own works; some would need literature in their future fields of study; some also, would find themselves working in this field. To be able to function well either in their work, study or be able to write well, they would need an apt knowledge of the figurative use of language. This would in turn help them decipher a surface-structure meaning, from a deep-structure meaning.
My work thus is to make my students understand these different meanings and how they apply to every sentences or works generally. A student with the knowledge of these, has no problem in passing exams.
