The goal of phonics is not just that children be able to state the "rules" governing letter-sound relationships. Rather the purpose is to get across the alphabetic principle of the systematic relationships between letters and sounds.

When teaching phonics, I help students understand how letters are linked to sound to form letter-sound correspondence and spelling patterns and I help them learn how to apply this knowledge in their reading. With the following approaches ;

1. Teaching students unfamiliar words by analogy to known words.
2. Teaching students how to analyze letters-sounds relations in previously learned words to avoid pronouncing words in isolation.
3. Teaching students to spell words phonemically.
4. Teaching students to convert letters into sounds and then blend the sounds to forms recognizable words.

I have taught so many children phonics and I also make sure they enjoy it because that is the only way they can easily learn it.

I make sure I give my students nothing but the best.
