An important aspect of basic mathematics is the ability to understand a question. Topics such as ratio, word problems, rates and a handful of others requires the student to understand the question and once the question is understood, it makes the solving part very easy. Another key aspect is the ability to understand the changes in signs that occurs due to addition, multiplication, division and substraction of numbers during computations. These two aspects once mastered makes a student unstoppable in the field of mathematics.

I have successfully made mathematics the simplest subject in the eyes of my students and they have produced wonderful results to buttress this assertion. My students make 'A's and 'B's in their internal or external examinations as the case may be. I can be proud to say that the last set of SSS3 students I taught mathematics recorded no single failure in the subject with roughly 25% of the students having 'A' grade in WAEC. My JAMB, NABTEB and scholarship examination students are not left out. They simply see mathematics as a score booster!.

I vary my style of teaching depending on the student. Generally, I am very patient when teaching students with tons of practice examples (and real life events when necessary) to ensure I cover all the different ways a question can pop up from the topic. I also give students exercises at the end of each session to boost their confidence and to ascertain their level of understanding and progress. For smart students that have a solid foundation on the subject, the teaching tends to be fast by default if the student exhibits impressive speed of learning and comprehension.
I expect the client to provide the student with the necessary accessories such as text books ( Hidden Facts in Mathematics is commendable), scientific calculator, exercise books, and other writing materials. This creates an avenue for the student to practise on his/her own and is an indication of seriousness in the eyes of the tutor.
If all these are provided, the client should expect a tremendous improvement from the end of the student after I have taken him/her through the hidden but simple secrets of mathematics.
