I studied Educational Administration in unilag. I have been teaching both nursery classes and primary classes for 6 years.I realized that children find it hard to read if they're not familiar with the sound of each letter.But they perform better when they're introduced to phonics because it makes them to be familiar with sounds and easily blend letters together and also to be able to read on their own.A trial will convince you and you won't regret it. Children who find it hard to read and identity letters and their sounds perform better when they're taught phonics and it also makes them to be independent when reading
