The number one reason why most students don't get a perfect score in their SAT Writing is because they don't try hard enough, and even when they do, they do it the wrong way. I believe the three most important things when it comes to preparing for the SAT Writing Test are Time Management, PRACTICE and learning the grammar rules that the SAT tests. Once you understand how the test is designed and what grammar rules they try to trick you on, you will be able to spot these grammar rules all the time. With enough practice, it will become second nature to you. When it becomes second nature to you, you would be able to finish before the clock runs out. Not just finish, but finish well.
One important way to learn the grammar rules is by determining which are the most important ones and the least important ones. Once you've figured out the ones you believe to be most important, you spend extra time on those ones, ensuring that you're learning all you need to know about them. Then you move on to the others and learn as much as you can about those ones too.
