I use illustrative and concrete figures to explain the abstract process. I also allow all the students to be involved so that everybody can be carried along. Mathematics is a difficult subject for most students so I try to create an atmosphere of confidence for those who are weak to believe they can excel.
My notes are simple, elaborate, and self didactic during my class. I employ special techniques for handling mathematical signs in relation to numbers and alphabetical symbols which are confusing to students.
I engage my students in competitive but interactive classwork. I have been able to guide students to discover and develop some basic skills in dealing with word problems which is the bedrock of most topics in maths.
