It has always bothered me the way math is being taught nowadays. Students everywhere are not being taught the first thing about math which is "believing in one's self".
My duty is to encourage every child and help them discover their abilities to deal with logic-demanding issues. Everyone can do the math, if only you believe.
I prefer to be familiar with my students because I have come to understand that if they are comfortable around you, they can learn from you. However, I am a taskmaster even though I don't aim to overwhelm, I give a lot of work. This helps my students build stamina and hence can do math whenever and wherever.

Teaching the British curriculum has been an experience especially as I was taught using the Nigerian curriculum. It has actually proved easier to teach as the students no longer find the topics abstract but rather practical and easily relatable as the questions are usually scenario based.
