A child's understanding of Basic Mathematics goes a long way to determine his/her future career plans. From observation and research, students who don't do well in Math feel they cannot choose career paths relating to calculations. However, these conclusions aren't thorough because the child never got the opportunity to truly enjoy Maths.

I was in such a situation where I thought I had no hope with the sciences because of my poor understanding of Maths. That changed when I got the right tutor who made me actually enjoy Mathematics (early enough thankfully). Since then, I have made it a point of duty to help children understand the subject better. I have been able to effectively tutor a good number of children in math and help them get good enough to tutor their mates who needed help. It really isn't rocket science.

My method of teaching maths is to make the math problem more relational, such that the student seeks to get the solution with any given data. In reality, there is no question without an answer; Same with Maths. Once the student can see that, learn and apply basic mathematical rules like the BODMAS for example, it will be obvious that maths isn't a mysterious subject after all.
