Since Verbal reasoning is one of the essential foundational subjects for pupils in Nursery, Primary and students in Junior Secondary school, it is essential to get it right from the start. I have been teaching Verbal reasoning for over six years with excellent outcomes on a consistent note. To ensure that my pupils/students start out right, i get them exposed to a lot of readings and extensive vocabulary. I also make sure that they have a solid grasp of synonyms (words that have the same meaning), antonyms (words that mean the opposite of each other) ,plurals, good spelling skills, and strong maths skills. General knowledge is however not excluded from as they also need this.
Some of the tips i make use of to help my pupils/children boost their verbal reasoning skills include the following:
-Playing word games and quizzes, for instance, spotting the odd one out from a list of words, giving a synonym or antonym for a word, solving anagrams etc.
-Doing crosswords and word searches, and playing games like Hangman.
-Playing word-based games like Scrabble.
Sometimes, i also encourage parents to take their children to museums, shows and exhibitions to build their general knowledge.
Also, as a certified Google Educator, i implement the Google education tools to facilitate children's learning process. I refer to YouTube videos to expatiate on my teachings and ensure my students see things practically.
Furthermore, I make use of the Google classroom which makes collaborative learning easier for my students.
I can give assignments , grade them, set deadlines, and they can turn in assignments via the Google classroom regardless of the distance. I can also share relevant materials, videos and slides via Google classroom even when I'm not physically with my pupils and students. With the Google classroom which is like an abstract class, my students get more involved in learning by themselves and i can also pair them up with pupils/students from anywhere from whom they can benefit while i monitor them.
With the above, one can tell that the only outcome is an outstanding performance in Verbal reasoning which has always been the case with the clients i have taught their children so far.
Some clients whose children i have taught include Mrs Oniku(via Tuteria), Barrister Esho, Mr. Godwin Emefiele(current CBN Governor) to mention a few. Reports from these clients about me confirms the soundness of my teachings as a result of the excellence their wards achieved in their various exams.
My prospective clients should also not expect less than the improvement and excellence they desire for their children.
Preparations i expect from clients include provision of the relevant learning materials which include textbooks, writing books, pen etc.
An optional provision i expect from client is an internet enabled PC, phone or tablet for their children to facilitate digital learning even outside our normal scheduled classes regardless of the distance.
