Basic Mathematics

I have been teaching Basic Mathematics for a couple of years which started out in Good Success Academy and then I moved to Hope Grammar School both in Ilesha, Osun state. I have also worked with several parents as a private tutor for Basic Mathematics before I moved to Janet & John College, Gbagada in 2015 after serving a Mathematics teacher in Esigie Comprehensive College Abudu, Edo state. One of the key things I ensure is that my students commit the multiplication table 2-12 to memory seeing that this automatically takes care of their ability to divide numbers to a reasonable extent.

Furthermore, I introduce some practicals into my teaching which aids understanding and retention. For instance, the basics of fraction become clearer when I use an orange divided into several parts and then expressing the part(s) as a fraction of the whole orange. Also, the difficulty with signs(minus and plus) gets eliminated when I use the concept that minus depicts a borrowed amount and plus is what is at hand which you have to pay.
In addition, in my examples, I do ensure that I present more than one approach to solving questions on a particular topic.

There has been a record of excellence for the students I have taught out which I have Ojodare Adeogo, Adeleye grace, Olufemi Victor who successfully topped their Common entrance exams a few years ago. I also have Olaiya Taiye that came second in her entrance exam into SS1 in The Apostolic Faith College, Gbagada, Again, Haastrup Adeyeye and Ife Alake passed their O levels with outstanding performances.

My teaching style is interactive as I ensure a two-way communication between myself and the students I teach. I ask questions and give room for questions. Relevant classwork and assignments are given after each lesson.

Clients should anticipate feedback from me from time to time, I could also make recommendations as to the textbooks needed for the subject depending on the level and understanding of the student.

I also take disciplinary measures when the situation demands.

Finally, I expect that clients should provide a whiteboard and markers to facilitate the teaching process.

With this in place, clients should anticipate the improvement and success they desire for their wards.
