Vocabulary Building
Children acquire new words through vocabulary building. This is a vital part of all content learning. The link between vocabulary knowledge and comprehension is undeniable because successful comprehension is, in some significant part, dependent on the reader's knowledge of word meanings in a given passage. Model word learning strategies will be adopted to build word-rich environments including vocabulary organisation and word detection among others.
