I always try my best to be as pragmatic as possible when teaching Mathematics. Since its numerical, I will go through every process of the solution sequentially until I have built my student's confidence to be sure their practice questions, and other similar questions would not be a problem.
This approach has really paid off with my students as it helps them in not just building a good psyche towards the subject, but in their general approach and performance in local and international examinations like Common Entrance, SSCE, NECO, IJSCE, GRE etc.
I go through every step and discussion with the student and try to understand their difficulties until the topic is properly understood.
