Statistics is an aspect of Mathematics. Some topics treated in Statistics are the Measures of Central Tendency (mean,median & mode), probability, measures of variability, diagrammatic representation of data like the bar chart, pie chart, histogram & so on.
I finished from the University of Lagos where I bagged a degree in Mathematics/Statistics. I taught some S.S3 Students Statistics which is also an aspect of mathematics.
When teaching statistics, I start by Introducing the topic. This can be done by asking them some questions that relate to the topic to make learning very vast. Explanation is the next step. Entertaining questions from them to see if they have understood. I give them exercises to work on then I score their work and encourage them to do better. Give them assignment to practice with and score on your next day.

I have taught some grade school students(private teaching) using the British Curriculum.I taught them Mathematics, Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning.I noticed that the British curriculum is more brainstorming than the Nigerian curriculum.
