I am a 21st Century educator who uses the habit of mind to apply data and quantitative tools in solving a wide range of problems.
Quantitative is an "Intellectual and Practical Skills" necessary to "prepare for twenty-first-century challenges."

There are several principles for teaching QR that will help your children remain on track to learn the kinds of skills I am interested in teaching them without getting bored in complicated calculations or endlessly long tasks. These includes;

-Regular emphasis on the need for accuracy relative to precision.
-Consider the social construction of numbers and prompting the students to get past it
-Students are asked to communicate about their quantitative work. A first step in this process is being able to analyze the quantitative analysis presented in the sample representations.
- Use of active learning to engage the students; and letting them get involved.
-Not forgetting that small changes in data representations can have large impacts
