I understand that it is not enough to just teach, equally important is ensuring that the pupil assimilates everything he/she is taught, by being thorough and knowing when to introduce new parameters.
The rate of assimilation varies from child to child.
I study my pupils, understand the pace at which they learn, and teach them accordingly. Speed, after all is only as important as accuracy.
When it comes to teaching and learning, it is seldom a 'one size fits all'.
