A mechanical engineering graduate tutoring basic technology is like a sniper handling a gun. The perfect fit for one another. For example, whereas a regular teacher will probably teach about machine parts using a textbook and explaining on the basis of what the textbook provides, a teacher/tutor with an engineering background like myself celebrates these machine parts teaching about their past, future,dimensions and composition amongst other things. This approach also applies to drawings and other aspects of basic technology. If the child I am tutoring has a device that connects to the internet, we will use this to further expand the scope of knowledge so as to better appreciate what is being taught. This is quite necessary considering technology is constantly changing and the textbook provides might not properly capture the pace of these changes especially on areas like ergonomics, for example. A good tutor like myself wants to keep the child he is tutoring up to date.
