As a first class graduate of mechanical engineering with a quality experience in teaching undergraduate engineering courses such as fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and engineering mathematics; I have tutored over 100 students in which 65% of the students scored more than 70% while the remaining 35% of the students scored more than 60% but less than 70% in the courses stated above.
As regard subjects like further mathematics, mathematics, physics and chemistry; the larger percentage of my students usually score 'A' while some score 'B' with less than 10% getting a grade 'C'.
My style of teaching is dependent of the current mental ability of the student(s). As for the very bright students; the teaching style is more or less of a discussion class in order to guide, instruct and correct the misconception he/she has about the subject be it mathematics, physics, chemistry and further mathematics. As regard the less bright ones; the rudiment and elementary concepts of the subjects( mathematics, further mathematics, physics and chemistry) will be reviewed to have a solid foundation that will successfully accommodate other topics to be taught. Questions about each topic is allowed in every class for a designated period of time which will not still disturb the teaching period. My success stories and that of the students which I have taught in the past is a natural motivation for my intending and current students.
It is essential for parent(s) to provide relevant materials such as textbooks, calculators and past questions related to the subject(s) to be taught. This is to facilitate learning because the said materials will help in class assessments and assignments and this will yields an excellent result.
