Literacy and numeracy are part of everyday life. Walking along a street and noticing the traffic lights,
the leaves on the ground, the shapes and colours of cars. It is meant to be a meaningful &yrelevant part of everyday life for young learners.

As an early childhood educator, I want to help build positive messages and attitudes about literacy and numeracy, for them to participate in rich Literacy and numeracy are integral parts of everyday life. As we walk along a street, we notice traffic lights, leaves on the ground, and the shapes and colors of cars. For young learners, these experiences should be meaningful and relevant.

As an early childhood educator, my goal is to foster positive attitudes towards literacy and numeracy. I aim to create rich play-based learning experiences that support and promote all aspects of children’s development.

I strive to offer a diverse range of opportunities that do not rely solely on formal, structured learning processes. Instead, I focus on exposing learners to essential elements of literacy and numeracy through play. This approach emphasizes that children in their early years absorb information through open-ended, hands-on experiences.

By providing a hands-on approach to learning, children are surrounded by opportunities for play, both indoors and outdoors, that promote their learning and growth.play learning experiences that support and promote all other aspects of their learning and development.

To provide a rich range of opportunities that do not necessarily involve use of formal and structured learning processes, but expose learners to the key aspects of literacy and
numeracy through a play based medium – emphasises that children in the early years take in information through open ended play based experiences with a hands on approach. This reflects a hands-on approach to learning where children both indoors and outdoors are surrounded by opportunities for play which promote learning.
