Tuteria is a community built on trust. When deciding to tutor, it’s important you understand and abide by our Terms of Service to protect you, and ensure everyone is treated fairly.
Some policies to keep in mind
- Accepting direct payments from clients is not allowed: all payments must be made through Tuteria, including clients who wish to re-hire you. Tutors are not permitted to collect money directly from or continue dealing directly with clients received through Tuteria. We advise that you factor in transport fare when stating your price. This ensures you’re not cheated and that you don’t struggle to collect payment after lessons.
- Providing false or inaccurate information is prohibited: be completely honest when describing your education, experience, age, address, work history etc. Tuteria gives equal opportunities to everyone without preference. Don’t tell lies or mislead people. Any false information will be detected and penalized by our quality team.
- Fraudulent, unprofessional or criminal behaviours are not condoned: we have zero tolerance for such acts as stealing, sex offences, molestation, impersonation, fraud, kidnappings etc. When dealing with clients, do not engage in any crime or indecent behaviours.
- Revealing any personal information is not permitted: when filling your profile and subject descriptions, do not reveal any personal details like phone number, email, links, your last name, address etc. All your entries and edits are manually reviewed by our quality team. Tuteria will always supply you will client details when you have a booking.
- High quality service is expected at all times: quality learning is the heart of Tuteria, and we expect all tutors to deliver quality tutelage to their clients who will have the opportunity to rate and review the tutor after every lesson. Tutors whose ratings fall below 3.5 may not be allowed to continue on Tuteria.
Tuteria is trusted by hundreds of thousands of people all over the country. In order to preserve our growing community and keep it fair for everyone, tutors who attempt to circumvent the platform or violate any of our policies – even for just one time – will be permanently removed from Tuteria.
In addition to that, we will cancel all tutor's pending lessons and refund client payments, as well as notify all previous clients about the tutor’s removal on the basis of dishonesty and untrustworthy behaviour, and advise them not to encourage dealings with that tutor in anyway.
We support, protect and promote all our tutors because we want you to succeed on Tuteria. Please keep to our policies.
