Cancellation Policies

Tuteria allows tutors to choose among three standardized cancellation policies (Flexible, Moderate, and Strict) that we will enforce to protect both clients and tutors when lessons are booked or canceled. The Long Term cancellation policy automatically applies to all bookings of 24 hours or more. Each subject and booking on our site will clearly state the cancellation policy. Clients may cancel and review any penalties by viewing their 'Bookings Made' and then clicking 'Cancel' on the appropriate booking.

Flexible: 6 hours notice required for full refund

  • Lessons not taught are always refunded.
  • The Tuteria booking fee is non-refundable.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Tuteria within 24 hours after lesson starts.
  • Tuteria will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
  • Clients are expected to have discussed with tutors ahead of cancellation.
  • A lesson is officially canceled when the client clicks the 'Cancel' button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Bookings > Cancel.
  • Cancellation policies may be superseded by the Refund Policy, safety cancellations, or extenuating circumstances. Please review these exceptions.

For a full refund, cancellation must be made at least 6 hours before the start time on the day of the lesson. For example, if a lesson is scheduled for Friday, 6pm to 8pm cancel at least by Friday, 12pm of that same week before the lesson starts.

If the client cancels a single lesson less than 6 hours before it commences, the cost of the first hour is non-refundable but remaining hours are 100% refunded.

If a booking contains more than one session and the client cancels the entire booking before it starts, 10% of the booking cost is non-refundable while 90% is refunded.
